My name is on the Wy State Board of Nursing site.... license issued today, expires 12/08....

I'm not sure if it's a glitch or a cruel joke, but I'm not going to believe it for sure until that paper is in my hand. I just can't believe I really might have done it!!!

Took me just about 15 hours to read the whole thing. All of my spoilers will be under the block, but I WILL say that I loved it! It's been a long time since I enjoyed a book so much!

OMG I just got my Authorization to Test!!!! AIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE *writhes on the floor*

I got my first real successful IV start on a real patient!! xD The nurses on Outpatient have been so forgiving and helpful with me - I'll be a pro at it by the time this rotation is done!

*really sucks at having any sense of self-confidence and that always seems to set her up for failure*

Anyways, one of the best parts of the day...

One of our patients needed to use the bedpan (omg they still do those!?!!?) because she had had a heart cath and needed to lay flat for a few hours. Anyways, she missed so we had to change her linens. I felt really bad for her because she was so humiliated so we were just getting her cleaned up and putting on new sheets when some guy walked into the room. I figured he was family so I said, "We'll just be a minute! *smile*" before closing the curtain all the way around so he couldn't sneak past the part that was open a little.

Anyways, once we were all finished, we went out into the hallway and I found out that the guy I had shut out was totally her doctor.... xD!!!!!!

I was totally embarrassed thinking "Holy crap I just chased the doc out of the room!". But then... if I were the patient, I wouldn't want my doc walking in while I was getting an occupied bed change either... so I figure it's okay xD Besides, he wasn't wearing any ID and he was just dressed regularly... how was I supposed to know??

I hate not knowing who's who in the hospital... it's like EKG techs look like docs and docs look like RRTs and Rad techs look like CNAs and nursing students look like Transport team and RNs look like CNAs. Why do we all have to dress so similarly/casual!? xD

So yeah. That was my embarrassing thing today :)

So like... on days when I have to wake up really early for class, I feel like I'm functioning just fine, but I do a lot of really dumb things xD

One time, on my way to class, I waited for like 5 minutes at a 4-way stop waiting for the "light to change" xD!!! Oh that was embarassing. Thankfully it was like 6:30 in the morning so no one was around to see how stupid I was.

This morning I totally opened my refrigerator looking for a pair of socks while getting dressed... and then I got all discouraged when there weren't any in there xD!!!

It's okay, though because it doesn't take me long to realize "Oh... DUH!" and to correct my silly mistakes. Meh, it's 5 in the morning, cut me some slack!

Well, I'm getting ready for my first ever 6-to-6 shift!! I'm kind of nervous xD

I was stupid to schedule it the morning after the stupid Spring Fling dance, but actually the kids were pretty quiet last night. I was tempted to get back at the loud kids above me by blaring my iTunes at 4:30 when I woke up... but I guess I'm too nice for that x)

We did our new hire paperwork at the hospital yesterday so last night I had a dream ALL about paperwork!! AUGH it was awful. I dreamed that I got to the hospital ready to sign my second batch of paperwork and they were like "Wtf we don't remember you."

I just kind of blinked and was like, "Um... you hired me for the OR... I've already given you my driver's license and soc card and stuff..." and they just looked annoyed and said "Look, we'll have to see if we can find anything about you. You'll just have to go home for now... and I'd suggest reapplying."

Yeah... it was kind of scary xD;;;

Okay, my dream last night before I forget it...

I dreamed that Erin called me outside to show me all of these little hamsters when I was thinking about getting a new pet. They were all like... brand new babies! Only an inch long or so and I was cooing over how wonderful they were and wondering how I could pick just one when they were all so precious.

Then she said, "Oh wait! You HAVE to check these ones out!!" and she took me over to another little... hamster corral (seriously, that's what it looked like). And in it, there were small hamsters that were black (with peach noses) and each of them had a teeny little sunflower blooming out of their backs. At first I was shocked... plants and animals combined into one? And Erin said, "Aren't they adorable? They a breed I've been working on growing for some time now - they're called Sunflower Hamsters!"

And, though I was still kind of weirded out by their appearance, I had to agree with her. They WERE cute and, while it was a strange combo, it seemed to compliment each other really well!

So I said, "I want one!! And I'll call her Sunflower or 'Sunny'... wait a minute! I've already had a hamster named Sunny!!" :o

.... and that's all I remember... o____O

Okay, so I was going through my old school things (my mom saved a lot of our old drawings and stories) - I was looking for one in particular, a story I wrote a long time ago about a princess and a unicorn who were best friends. DON'T LAUGH! It actually had an interesting plot and, re-reading it, I even remember where I was going with it xD

Anyways, here, I'll type up version one: written by little Rose, age 6/7. *will even add all of the original spelling/punctuation*

The Princess and her Unicorn

Once upon a time there was a Princess and she was lonely so one day she set off to find a friend in the woods and she mat a fox but he was to smart so she went on and found a brid but he sang to much and than she found a unicornl and she went home but she didn't know she had a tail.

Okay... so the whole story's one giant run-on... BUT... xD

See, my original plan (yes, I can remember this) was to have the princess end up really being a unicorn too? xD The last page (each page is illustrated) shows her and the unicorn walking off and she has a tail identical to his.

Well anyways, I want to kind of revive the story, right? I'm not sure if I'd go the same route... just because the princess going "YAY a unicorn, let's be friends :B" and then never noticing that she has a tail coming out of her butt.. I don't know - cute for a first grader, but kind of a lame and unlikely story for real xD

So anyways, I guess the main point of this is to say that I'm going to attempt to re-write the story somehow. But I need to figure out how I want to work in the princess-as-a-unicorn thing. *shrugs*

I've decided I was a very STRANGE kid. Just looking through the stories, I found one about finding a ghost caught in spider webs and one about a magic watermelon (that I received as a birthday present) that produced a genie when rubbed (I am SO not kidding).

I may have to read some more of them and see if any others are worth reviving xD

Oh yeah, I'm going to start updating this more often again just because I think I use my DA journal too much for non-art/personal things so... maybe I ought to start spamming this end of the web again?

That, and I just luuuve Harry Potter newbies :3 You know, people reading them for the first time! They are SO FUN! One of my friends has been IMing me every night with "I just finished book three!" and "Now I know what your screenname means!!" It's so cute xD And then they ask me all of these questions and say "So when will the series be finished?" And then I can bombard them with all of my ships and make them realise that OBHWF is the ONE TRUE WAY :3 And awwwww.... now he's making assumptions of what might happen in book 7... awww xD I've converted another one ;)

STOP ME BEFORE I FALL IN LOVE WITH ALMOR!!!!!! >:O I'm supposed to be making him a sinister, evil, bad, disgusting, terrible character.... but now I'm going off and making him a nice, considerate, just... tragic guy. THAT'S NOT FAIR!!! He was supposed to be my bad character!!! SHAME on me for giving him such a story that could make him good!

*sigh* I guess I just need to type it up... maybe once I actually get his intro out of the way that will help. Now it's just a matter of when I can get that done xP My schedule for the next week doesn't look like it'll help much.

Time for me to do a little LJ cleansing...

Due to the fact that I switched my LJ over to friends only, and noticed a lot of my friends have, I went through and removed everyone from MY friends list who didn't have me on theirs (it's only fair!) Besides, if these people don't want to be my friend, why should I list them as mine?? o__O;;

This post is very important... will ALL the people who would like to remain as my "friend" please reply to this and let me know!! I haven't heard from several of you and some of you... I don't even know who you are anymore. I want to narrow my list down a bit so please reply. (*huggles many of her friends* Some of you I NEVER want to get rid of!! :3 You know who you are ;D)

If you would like to be removed (and I understand that) just post and let me know! :D

If you have me listed as a friend and I DON'T have you as one (if you haven't been able to see any of my posts in the past YEAR or so), that's kind of your cue to go ahead and delete me from your list because I either don't know who you are, or I don't want you reading my entries. Anyone remember my LiveJournal Charity Fund? You know, I have gotten quite a few applications for it lately and I was wondering why . . .

Well, I went back to the page it used to be on (I stopped doing it a YEAR ago!!) and it said "As of July 26th, Rose will not be taking applications..." XD!!!! I never put a year!! Well, I went back and changed that.

So, for any LJ Hopefuls reading? I gave all the codes away, go bug someone else. xP

For all the people who got codes from the LJCF a year ago? You lucky dogs ;) Wow... I look back now and wonder how I ever had enough patience to do such a thing!! XD XD XD

But then I look at the list and how many of my friends benefited from it, and I feel all proud :p *raises glass* Here's to LiveJournal!! XD

XD You know . . . you'd think someone like me who likes chic flicks as much as I do would have no interest in a violent/action/macho/sci-fi, right? So why do I like Terminator so much?? XD

My dad bought the first two when they came out on DVD and we watched them for the first time. Normally, I'd probably pass it up, but in this case, I'm just so fascinated by the story!! (and heck, any series that can make a good sequel deserves my attention)

So today we went to see T3, and I enjoyed it very much. ...Spent half the time with my fingers in my ears, but it was still good!! Hooray for John Connor!!! :3 :3 And Arnold rocks my world XD (even though he's getting old and fat but SHHH! I didn't say that!!)

I also want to go see Pirates of the Carribean (NOT for Orlando Bloom!! I am SO not an OB fangirl >:O But for Johnny Depp, thankyouverymuch - because I think he'd make a great pirate x3) And also because I'm such a big pirate fan (anyone remember Captain Rose Hook? Arrrr!) And I also want to see Sinbad. But I still think they should have gotten Sinbad to be the voice of Sinbad X3

And, even though it's 18 minutes from being over, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, AMERICANS!!! ^_____^ We watched the Patriot last night to celebrate and then watched the fireworks from our hill (which honestly overlooks the ENTIRE city. It was nice.) We also had a good old fashioned American dinner XD Hamburgers from the grill, corn on the cob, Jell-O and Coke. Can't get any more American than that, can you?

*trails off into a chorus of "God Bless America...."*

That, and I bought a CD/DVD of Josh Groban in concert!!! *meeeeelts* I'm in love!! Seriously, I haven't been this infatuated with a music artist since Bryan White (whom I still love, BTW) - nope, not even during the Boy Band Era!! ;) Has anyone else heard/likes him?? *sigh* I guarentee you after hearing even one song you'll be impressed. I first heard him when he sung at the Olympics a few years ago - Kristin introduced him to me. Basically, he's a 25-year old musical genius. He sings classical-type music and love songs, some in Latin *meeeeelts* And he has the most BEAUTIFUL voice ever!!! He sings like he has the mature opera voice of a 40-year old man. *meeeeellllts* (not to mention he is POSITIVELY ADORABLE with his dark curly hair and boyish face ^________^) And he's sung with all sorts of great people . . . Celine Dion, Charlotte Church, John Williams . . . When's it my turn, Josh!?!? *meeeeelts*
